Dramatis Personae
One of the three main Companies within Exclamation Theater, Dramatis Personae performs established works of literature.
Our Dramatis Personae Mainstage production is The Revenge Tragedy Anthology, a compilation of 15th and 16th century revenge tragedies, built around William Shakespeare's Hamlet and Othello, and including works by Thomas Kyd, Christopher Marlowe, Thomas Middleton, and Cyril Tourneur. The presentation features Roy Campbell, a charter Company member, and many actors associated with the Folger Shakespeare Theatre and six of the local university theaters. It opens September 6, 2007 in greater Washington, DC, and will play at thirteen of the DC Consortium Colleges and Universities through January 14, 2008. Attendance is limited to the undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and their parties of the respective participating schools. The anthology has been edited and directed by our Executive Producer, Dr. Patricia Robinson-Linder, and assistant directed by Dr. Deirdre Elaine Kelley.
The Board of Directors, volunteer staff, and Dr. Patricia Robinson-Linder would like to extend heart-felt thanks to the Cast of sixty (60), the five technicians, and the corps of House volunteers, as well as to our superb Assistant Director, Dr. Deirdre Elaine Kelley, for dedicated work on The Revenge Tragedy Anthology. It has renewed our faith in the power and excellence of literature-in-performance.
